Several carmakers eke out special edition models to create a buzz around the launch of its upcoming new models. Fiat, too, is seen following a similar vein, and has announced a special Fiat 500X Opening Edition model for the European market.
The entry-level car comes with an Art Grey exterior paint, with tinted rear windows and with some special badging. In addition, the car comes with 18-inch alloy wheels while inside the cabin, buyers will find an automatic climate control system and the Safety and Comfort packages.
The Fiat 500X Opening Edition will be available with two engine options. A 1.6-litre Multijet II churning out 120PS of power and a 1.4-litre Turbo MultiAir II delivering 140PS of power will do duty under this car. According to Fiat, the entry-level of the 500X Opening Edition will be available only with front wheel drive.
The range-topping Fiat 500X Opening Edition comes with a 2.0-litre MultiJet II engine producing 140PS of power. The car is mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and features an all wheel drive system.
The range-topping variant also sports an Amore Red exterior with rain-sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. Other features include a two-tone interior, an electrochromic rear view mirror and an Uconnect infotainment system with GPS navigation.
The Fiat 500X Opening Edition will go on sale only in the European market. Production will be limited to just 2,000 units, and the car will retail at an approximate price tag of Rs 17 lakh.
