EICMA 2015: India Scout Sixty unveiled

Indian has announced the latest addition to its lineup by unveiling the Indian Scout Sixty at the EICMA show in Milan.

The Indian Scout Sixty gets its name from the 60 cubic inch (999cc) engine, reducing displacement from the 1133cc Indian Scout. The engine makes 78PS power and makes peak torque of 88Nm. The Scout Sixty also gets a five-speed transmission, instead of the six-speed ‘box on the Scout, less chrome and no ABS.

The two Scouts share the same frame and suspension design, so expect the Scout Sixty to have sharp handling like its bigger sibling. The Scout Sixty also gets a blacked out treatment to distinguish it from the larger Indian Scout.

In the US, the Scout Sixty is about $2,000 less than the Scout. There’s no word yet on if the bike will be launched in India as well, but if it is launched, expect it to be priced around  Rs 10 lakh or so.
