April 2015 has become the most successful month in sales in Ducati’s history, selling a total of 7,309 bikes.
It’s a 29 per cent increase from the previous sales record set in May 2012, when 6,500 Ducati bikes were sold to customers across the world.
Sales of new models, like the Scrambler, 1299 Panigale and Multistrada 1200 have largely driven the sales growth. In fact, Scrambler has become the best-selling Ducati motorcycle in Italy, and Ducati’s home country saw the biggest increase in overall sales, a massive 69 per cent rise over April 2014.
Spain holds second place in the sales records for Ducati, with a 54 per cent increase. Germany holds third place as the best performing country for Ducati with 52 per cent, followed by UK at 50 per cent rise.
"For logistical reasons, the new range of 2015 will be reaching the other side of the Atlantic in the next few days, giving Ducati a good reason to remain optimistic of an even more substantial growth," a press release from Borgo Panigale stated.
Ducati expects overall sales to pick up in the coming months with deliveries expected to begin in the US as well as here in India. The Scrambler is Ducati’s least expensive offering in the Indian market and is available at Rs 6.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings are being accepted and deliveries are expected to begin soon.
