With 9,371 cars delivered to customers in the calendar year 2012, BMW India has managed to hold on to its position as the leader in the luxury car segment in India for the third consecutive year. 

It has taken the German luxury car maker less than six years to achieve this milestone and halfway through the year, the group has also managed to achieve an equally impressive production milestone, which is the roll out of its 25,000th unit from the Chennai plant.

Commenting on the continued success of the group’s operations here in India, Dr. Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India said, “BMW India continues its success story in 2012 by maintaining its momentum in the leadership position in Indian luxury car segment. We understand the Indian luxury consumer and are confident of maintaining our Number One position in the luxury car segment with an emotional and exciting product portfolio, innovative services and strong customer affinity towards the BMW brand.”

So far, BMW (Read : BMW X3 Road Test) has delivered 4,457 cars in the calendar year 2012. The car maker sold over 1,000 units in the month of March alone, while February, April and May together contributed to sales of over   2,198 units.
