2015 BMW Golf Cup International begins in India

The opening tournament was held in Kochi; 16 more tournaments to be held across the country. This event has been exclusively designed for BMW customers in India. National winners will go ahead and compete at the 2015 BMW Golf Cup International World Final.

2015 BMW Golf Cup International begins in India

BMW India has commenced the 2015 BMW Golf Cup International in Kochi. The luxury carmaker will launch 16 more tournaments across 13 cities in India including Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Raipur, Lucknow, Greater Noida and Gurgaon.

This event has been exclusively designed for BMW customers in India. The winners of the tournaments from each city across the country will compete at the national level. The national winners will go ahead and compete at the 2015 BMW Golf Cup International World Final.

Commenting on the event, Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India, said, “It is with immense pride that we introduce BMW Golf Cup International 2015 in India. The world of amateur golf in India is witnessing progressive development and exemplifies the advancement and legacy of the sport in this country. BMW Golf Cup International is an event that our customers and patrons of the game all over India look forward to with enthusiasm and eagerness. We hope to see some great performances from this year’s participants and wish them success.”

BMW dealerships will choose golfers among its customers who are interested in participating in the tournament. The tournaments will be held in accordance with the rules of the respective local golf club. The luxury carmaker will conduct Golf clinics across all the 13 cities. Participants will be able to practice and take professional advice at these clinics to learn the game. BMW dealerships will organise 8 – 10 Golf Clinics in each of these cities for its customers.

The 2015 BMW Golf Club International has three categories: A (for handicaps up to 12), B (for handicaps 13 – 28) and Ladies Category (for handicaps up to 28). Yatan Mahalawat won the tournament. Thotungal Mathai Shaji stood as the first runner-up, while Anil Menon was the second runner-up. Prashant Tole, Arpita Gijare, Krishnananda Shenoy, Param Rathore, and Gigi John Philipose were the other winners of the game.
