Bentley Bentayga diesel on the cards

Last month Bentley took the wraps off its much awaited SUV, Bentayga at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The one that was revealed sported a 6.0-litre W12 petrol unit but it has now been revealed that Bentley also plans to bring in the SUV in diesel form. The company’s first ever SUV will also be its first ever diesel offering. Recent reports suggest that the Bentley Bentayga will use the same electric driven turbocharger that that is set to make its debut in the upcoming Audi SQ7.

The Audi SQ7 is due next year and as per recent reports it will use a 4.0-litre V8 TDI unit with an e-turbo that makes 435PS. While there is no confirmation regarding its torque rating, it is expected to be around 1000Nm. While these figures are just tentative as of now, there might also be a possibility of slight variant in figures in the Bentley Bentayga diesel. Figures aside, the Bentley Bentayga will also have technology to reduce fuel consumption and at the same time enhance performance and reduce turbo lag.
