Audi India has announced a price increase by an average of three per cent across its model range in India

2014 Audi A7

The German luxury car manufacturer has hiked the prices of its cars in India. The prices of all the Audi models will increase by an average of three per cent. The new prices will be effective from May 1, 2014 as informed to the press.

Commenting on the announcement, Joe King, Head, Audi India, says, “While Audi has exhibited stellar sales performance in 2013 and in the first quarter of 2014, the overall market scenario has remained challenging with the constant fluctuation in forex rate; thus resulting in a rise in input and operational costs. To address this, we have rationalized prices, but have ensured that the impact is as minimal as possible. Additionally, we continue to offer our customers innovative finance solutions from Audi Finance which will make their purchase more attractive.”

The last price hike by Audi was made effective on January 1, 2014 and included an increase from three to five per cent across its entire model range selling in India. Audi has sold 1,404 units in March this year recording an 18 per cent growth year-on-year. The luxury carmaker has also registered a sale of 2,740 units in the January-March 2014 quarter. The company sold 10,126 units in the financial year 2014.

Currently Audi India offers A4, A6, A7, A8L in the passenger car segment with the S6 being the performance version. In the SUV segment, it has the Q3, Q5 and Q7 and in the sports range TT, RS5, RS7 Sportback and the flagship R8.
