2014 Performance Show exhibits automotive excellence

The annual Performance Show, an annual automotive show that is held at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra showcased some of the best cars and bikes under one roof. The show, which had automotive giants like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Honda displaying their latest products alongside exotic machinery like Lamborghini, Bentleys and Rolls Royce saw enthusiasts from Mumbai flocking to the venue.

Some noteworthy cars included the new Lamborghini Huracan, the new Bentley Continental GT V8, the Rolls Royce Ghost Series II and the new Mini Cooper range. Amongst the bikes, Triumph and Harley Davidson were out in full force with their model range. Benelli, a legendary Italian motorcycle manufacturer that will soon launch their bikes in the country in collaboration with the DSK group, displayed their whole range of bikes.

Hyundai too had eye candy in form of the Genesis sedan which could be launched in India in the next few years. Hyundai’s range topping sedan sports a V6 engine and comes with all-wheel-drive and front wheel drive options. The Performance Show also had private displays such as BigBoysToys showcasing a Ferrari FF and a Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

The 2014 Performance Show also had cars like the Nissan GT-R and a Lamborghini Aventador along with a classic Corvette Stingray on display. Mahindra had an off-road section that displayed the capabilities of the Thar and the SsangYong Rexton over a controlled track with water crossings, rock crawls and a steep incline. Maruti Suzuki also held the annual autocross with over 150 entries taking part this year.
