Isuzu India is expanding its network in the country well in time before domestic manufacturing begins in 2016. The company recently opened two new dealerships in Gujarat, the first in Ahmedabad and the second in the town of Rajkot. With these two new showrooms, Isuzu launches the MU-7 SUV and D-Max pickup in the state. The MU-7 BSIV is priced from Rs.21.48 lakh onwards and the D-MAX range is priced from Rs.6.54 lakh onwards, all prices ex-showroom, Rajkot.
The Rajkot dealership called Torque Isuzu is a sales and service outlet. At the inauguration, Takashi Kikuchi, Managing Director, Isuzu Motors India, said, “Our presence here in Rajkot will intensify our reach in the state and certainly be a win-win proposition for our customers and us. Rajkot is fast gaining importance as a business hub for many small and medium enterprises. This is expected to continue further and we are confident of leveraging our product strengths in this part of the country. Torque Isuzu will enable this for us as they are known for their best-in-class sales and service support.”
Isuzu plans to expand its reach to 60 dealerships by the end of next financial year and take that total to 160 units by 2020. Once production commences early next year, the Isuzu plant will have a capacity of 50,000 units per annum to begin with. The company can scale up production to 1.2 lakh units per year if the demand is strong.
