Lamborghini has launched the Revuelto plug-in hybrid supercar on our shores from Rs 8.89 crore (ex-showroom). The Revuelto, the Aventador’s successor, is an important model for Lamborghini as it marks the first series-production model from the Sant’Agata Bolognese carmaker to get a plug-in hybrid powertrain. So you know where we are going to start this report with.

Thankfully, the Revuelto hasn’t faced the downsizing threat as it continues to get the screaming 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 petrol engine. Pair that with three electric motors and you've got a beast of a powertrain that develops a whopping 1015PS. Drive is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

With the basics done, let’s get crunching with numbers. Nought to 100kmph comes up in just 2.5 seconds. Press on further and you hit a top speed of a stomach-wrenching 349kmph. But when you want to chill out and drive, the lithium-ion battery pack allows you to do 10km in EV mode. Not much, but do note that this hybrid powertrain is designed for high performance driving.

To ensure all that power is put down to the road responsibly, the Revuelto gets a handful of mechanical and electronic aids. These include 13 drive modes, electric torque vectoring to ensure the wheel with maximum grip gets the most traction, active aerodynamics and carbon ceramic brakes.

It also has the looks to match the show: plenty of sharp lines, aggressive design touches and elements inspired from the Sian. And on the inside, you get a cockpit that seems to be straight of a fighter jet with three different screens. Take a closer look at the Lamborghini Revuelto by tapping this link
