That’s nearly three times what Lamborghini’s ultra-rare supercar cost when it was new

Lamborghini Veneno

When Lamborghini debuted the Veneno concept in coupe form at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, many showgoers balked at the outrageous $4 million price tag that made it the most expensive production car at that time. That said, “production” is a stretch when it comes to the Veneno, because only five units of the supercar rolled out of the factory, and of those five, only three were made available for purchase; Lamborghini held onto one model for itself. That was followed by an almost equally-limited run of nine Veneno roadsters, all of which sold out in record time too.

But if you are a Silicon Valley whiz-kid who have recently secured funding for your multi-billion dollar idea, or have recently won the Powerball,  and are rueing the loss of opportunity to get one of these ultra-rare machines for your living room – let’s face it, you aren’t exactly planning to drive it every day to your workplace, if you even commute at all, that is – we’ve got some good news for you.

Lamborghini Veneno

Through a German website and a Japanese broker, a slightly-used Lamborghini Veneno is up for grabs. The asking price? A cool $11.1 million, which is nearly triple the car’s price when it was sold new. That's one heck of a markup for a car that’s now three years old, even if it only has about 840 kilometers on the odometer.

Built to celebrate Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary, the Veneno is powered by a 740PS 6.5-litre V12 engine that puts its power down to all four wheels via a seven-speed automated manual transmission. As a result, the Veneno can hit 96 kmph in under 3 seconds and has a top speed of over 350 kmph.

The images accompanying the website listing show that this particular Veneno has been kept in sealed storage. It's by far the most mysterious of the three Venenos. The other two reside in the United States. One went to a local collector and another to a Lamborghini dealer.
