Yamaha Motor has unveiled the complete details and specifications of the 2010 Yamaha YZF-R1. The previous year's model gathered rave reviews from the media across the world and the new MotoGP-inspired Crossplane crankshaft technology gave the 09 model an edge over its other litre-class rival, with its extremely useable power delivery and solid mid-range grunt.
For 2010, the YZF-R1 gets minor cosmetic changes over the 2009 bike but the bigger news is the YZF-R1 LE - a limited edition Valentino Rossi / Fiat Yamaha replica that comes complete with the number "46" and "The Doctor" logos and also a fuel tank which proudly flaunts a replica of Valentino Rossi's signature.
Although there is more to speak about the 2010 Yamaha YZF-R6, the middleweight sports motorcycle. The Yamaha YZF-R6 was always known for its high-revving nature and lack of low as well as mid-range power. The 2010 YZF0R6 comes with an advanced Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle system and a more mid-range friendly Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake system. The ECU has also been tweaked to provide a more linear power delivery from lower rpm and the exhaust system has been tuned to suit the aforementioned changes. Yamaha claims that these developments have given some serious boost to the low-mid rev-range of the latest R6, without compromising the bike's power delivery at higher revs. In the chassis department, the 2010 YZF-R6 gets a magnesium sub frame, a titanium exhaust, and Controlled-Fill die-cast aluminum chassis tit-bits.
