Buying a Bike? Get Best Deal

Bajaj Auto Ltd. has just launched its latest entrant into the Pulsar family - the light and sporty Pulsar 135LS.

Continuing its spate of new launches, Bajaj Auto has introduced a new member to its sporty Pulsar family. Called the Pulsar 135LS, the bike has been launched at a price of Rs 51,000 ex-showroom Delhi.

Even though it is being called the baby Pulsar, the 135LS features technology that are market-firsts by an Indian manufacturer. The bike will sport the first Indian engine with 4-valves, which allows the 135LS to make its impressive peak power of 13.5PS at a high 9,000rpm. Torque is adequate too at 11.4Nm. With those figures and a class-leading lightness of 122kg, the 135LS comes with a power-to-weight ratio that threatens even a few 150cc motorcycles.

Pulsar 135

The bike is also the first Pulsar to do away with the cradle frame chassis and sports the engine as a stressed member instead. Other features include a tachometer, a digital speedo with fuel gauge, clip-on handlebars and Nitrox shock absorbers at the rear. A longer wheelbase of 1325mm has been given to aid city-comfort and stability.

The Pulsar 135LS continues with the bang-for-the-buck theme, offering lots of value for its price. How does it ride? Check out in our first ride review in the online package!

.bajaj engines are good but what is problem with their accesary i dont know, quality of steel they are using is of very low standard. exost silencer of every bajaj bike bursts after 2-3 year most of the bikes look like dabba, ya i am damn right if u have any doubts then just go on road and see any 3 year old bajaj bike and other brands similar old bike u wiil note the difference. it can be maitained only single hand. there is no doubt pulsar is best bike after rx 100 in india but it should be long lasting like ENFIELD, u will find 20-30 year old bullet like brand new.all i want to say is only thing that i like pulsarvery very much but i dont have guarinty regarding its metal quality. some one should tell this to rahul bajaj | Reply

my friend if u r here for bikes then go for something better.i did not say only 1000.i no conditions as well.but v already have those 100s and 200s.where is the enthusiasm wen it comes to bikes.betta ride heropuch or boxer ct then.and u r talking about money.in today's era u urself tel me wat is the indian market today.do u think people have no money...!huh u better wake up my friend.people r smart.they want 250s and 500s with 60 kmpl average and non maintenance .the 1st question is about mileage.wat r v gonna produce then a basic luna actually.wen people today can buy plasmas worth 60-100000,or cars for 15-16 laks as its a showtime for them.then y not give something to the indian youths that they want rather then just a commuter.and if its not so then v shud stop producing and stick on to those pulsars, apache.i would rather ride a scooter.ha ha | Reply

Good Effort By Bajaj. Well Done. And for those, who want 1000cc bikes, i say, it is meant for usfullness rather than being gaudy everytime. Everyone doesn't have enough fuel and money for big bikes. Bajaj has done a great work for common Indians. The exceptional ones, who want >1000cc can go for Harley, Ducati, Yamaha etc. | Reply
  • sunny (17 December 2009 20:03)
what the hell with the mileage now.don't scream about it and plz do not make us feel shame by introducing this baby products.come on india grow up.get some hardhitiing and powerful bikes or else we will be riding these bicycles till next gen.i think by reading so many views anybody would wake up.and plz don't make those cheap bikes like pulsar and all craps.give us something that v want atleast 3 - 4 - 6 -1000 cc bikes.waiting for those onessss.lets go booooommmmmmm.... | Reply

@Sunny you just sound like a Broken Dole every one has their own priorities and i don't think there is any need for bajaj to make 1000 or 1600cc bike for indian segment because there will be a few who will be interested in those bikes and even though some are interested in big bike they may go for honda or ducati or any other bike | Reply

The R15 has rear disk breaks, liquid cooled engine, electronic fuel injection, deltabox frame, linked monocross suspension, 6-speed gearbox and more importantly a 150cc engine. I cant compare the impotent bajaj pulsar 135 with yamaha, but zigwheels people started it. best bike by bajaj. i drive rd 350 and shaolin, and the bigger pulsars wont match them on performance. sadly i dont hv any mileage.this 135cc offers great power to mileage ratio. and looks r best among the pulsars. am buying it first thing | Reply
  • Rajat (09 December 2009 15:48)
I feel bajaj should consult some brand makers as they don` t have names. I feel they want to make a seprate co. on the name of pulsar. Its Bajaj V/s Pulsar V/sOthers. As far as bike is concerned the comments can be made after tests., so, only brand Pulsar for me, needs to shape up and kept limited. | Reply

This is the new generation of Pulsars...All bike-makers are focusing on developing engine families and building a line-up of various displacement engine with the same basic layouts. for example, Honda did it with the iconic Fireblade in-line four cylinder engine from 1992 and it is still working. And now Honda has started with an all-new V4 engine family with the new VFR1200. Similarly, we can expect an all-new Pulsar engine family in the times to come with a 4-valve engine, liquid cooling, fuel injection and the works... | Reply

Thankfully, Bajaj decided to change the body a bit and not keep the same as the existing Pulsars.. not that I am impressed.. | Reply

The time is 12:51 p.m. as I am writing this and we already seem to have a few first remarks from people who as usual are sounding themselves off ---------------- (use the adjectives of your choice from stupidly, foolishly, idiotic, etc or something n that vein) without having understood nor seen seen the bike nor even read the definitive report on it. Guys you are only using the power of the internet rather liberally with no accountability. Deepak, Vinit, Bhai and Himanshu are great opinion makers without the power of all information and assesment at their disposal. Long may their tribe not flourish! | Reply
 Siddharth (09 December 2009 14:13) Reply to Jehan A D
The other guys don't need information, coz there ain't anything to ponder.. hence they kept their comments simple.. not getting at you buddy.. but people pay money, however, the manufacturer does not give them anything unique in quality or ownership pride. | Reply

Dude, you should be glad Bajaj heard your prayers and changed the body parts, (at least it seems so from the pic above).. Might as well all buy one bike that makes sense in the Bajaj stable and that's the P220.. | Reply

PULSAR has been ruling Indian roads since its birth.. 135LS is another generation of PULSAR family which has a nice look and affordable price for many.. only problem might be its light weight but lets see how it performs at high speed.. | Reply

Rahul (09 December 2009 17:57) Reply to Groobhy
I agree with you Grobhy. When it comes to pricing, I don't see any bike-manufacturing company in India that can challenge Bajaj. Bajaj surely gives people what they need and also makes it affordable. All the bikes from bajaj, starting from Platina 100cc to Pulsar 220, are examples in themselves. Before saying anything against Bajaj (and most of the time, just for the sake of it), you should look at the technology advancement in Bajaj engines, and infact bike as a whole, compared to others.I just respect Bajaj for reading the minds of it's followers and customers "MOST OF THE TIMES" | Reply
