Recent spy shots have emerged of what looks like a new 125cc adventure-style motorcycle from Bajaj

Bajaj has aggressively been updating their portfolio of motorcycles. While all the hype has been around the new Bajaj Pulsar NS400, another Bajaj bike has been spotted testing. From what we can see in these spy shots, this test mule appears to be a new adventure-style motorcycle.

The first thing we see is a long and sharp enduro-style headlight, followed by a unique fuel tank with sharp extensions. From the rear, this new test mule looks like a typical Pulsar because of the trademark split taillight design and a similar tyre hugger to what we see on other Pulsar models.

This test mule uses a telescopic fork and monoshock, while the braking setup includes a disc brake at the front and what appears to be a drum brake setup at the rear. The bike looks like it is riding on a set of 17-inch alloy wheels, which goes to show that this motorcycle might be more form than function when it comes to its adventure capabilities.

The bike gets a split-seat setup. From the way the rider is placed on the motorcycle, we can see that the seat tapers down from the tank, and the handlebars are set higher up to give this bike the comfortable riding posture of an ADV.

For now, we can not be sure of what engine is being used, but from the size of the tyres, and considering that it does have a kick-starter, we assume that this is going to be a 125cc motor.

Many manufacturers have been trying to amp up the 125cc segment with new offerings, and it seems that Bajaj aims to create a new segment with this offering. We expect this to be the return of the Pulsar AS range, though Bajaj might just go with a new name for the model. For now, it appears that this bike is in the very early stages of development so we can expect a launch to take place perhaps in mid 2025.

Rajiv Bajaj, CEO, Bajaj Auto, had mentioned in March that Bajaj is “super-segmenting” the Pulsar brand, which means creating various models to cater to different customer demands within the Pulsar family. Making an ADV-styled motorcycle in the 125cc segment will be a unique initiative that will give Bajaj the upper hand if this style of motorcycle is to succeed.
