Volkswagen Virtus vs Honda City: Performance And Fuel Efficiency Compared

The Honda City has a 1.5-litre petrol engine while the VW Virtus’s standard powertrain is a 1-litre turbo petrol unit.

The Virtus makes 115PS and 178Nm; the City is more powerful with a 121PS and 145Nm output.

In the 0-100kmph test, the Virtus comes out on top with a time of 10.66 seconds. It narrowly beats the City’s 10.99-second time.

The gap becomes wider in in-gear acceleration figures, with the Virtus taking 8.48 seconds to get from 20-80kmph in third gear. The City takes 9.96 seconds for the same.

In terms of fuel efficiency, the City betters the Virtus with 14kmpl in the city and 18.12kmpl on the highway. The VW sedan manages 11.96kmpl and 16kmpl, respectively.

The Volkswagen Virtus is priced from Rs 11.32 lakh to Rs 18.42 lakh, while the City costs Rs 11.57 lakh to Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
