The KTM 390 Duke changed the Indian motorcycling scene | 5 reasons why it was incredible

Its 373cc engine was a hooligan! There was nothing like it & all it wanted to do was to be ridden hard

And it weighed just 139kg dry | Makes the current gen 390 Duke sound unnecessarily heavy

The Metzeler W rated tyres were incredibly sticky, both in the wet and the dry

Heck, they even made the Apache RR310’s Michelin Road 5s look meh

And all of this for Rs 2.05 lakh (On-road Pune, in Jan 2014) meant you got a LOT of bike for the money

Even maintaining and replacing the 390’s parts was very affordable

The 390 Duke was, and more than a decade later still remains like nothing else in its segment

There’s a reason why there have been nearly 10 ZigWheels’ boys who have owned it over the years

Yes it was uncomfortable, had spongy brakes & hated being ridden slow, but it plastered a smile across the rider’s face each time you rode it

The Austrian brat was all about the shits and giggles
