New GST regulations put bikes above 350cc in a higher 40% tax slab, prompting engine downsizing plans

The 390 Duke, Adventure (S & R), Enduro R will remain on sale in their existing 398cc form, at least initially

At the same time, KTM will introduce new 350cc derivatives to benefit from the lower 18% GST bracket

The KTM 390 Adventure X might entirely be replaced by its 350cc avatar eventually

The RC 390 is still based on the older 373cc engine, so it’s unlikely to be downsized at least for now

So, customers will be able to choose between the 350cc & 398cc versions according to their needs & budget

Bajaj will monitor buyer response before deciding whether to phase out the larger-capacity versions in the future for India

Production of the 390 range will continue for export markets, ensuring the larger engine remains in global circulation

The final long-term plan will depend on pricing strategy, customer demand, & market reception in the coming months
