The BMW iX5 is a hydrogen-powered EV based on the X5 SUV.

It’s a test bed for BMW’s next-gen fuel cell drivetrain.

It has a fully sealed fuel cell stack under the bonnet.

The fuel cells are paired with an e-motor good for up to 374PS.

Hydrogen is stored in two carbon fibre fuel tanks in the EV.

BMW has developed a production unit for hydrogen cars in Munich.

It’s being made in small numbers for testing and demonstration
