Delhi government has banned bike taxis in the state

These taxi services are said to be using bikes with private registrations - this is against the Motor Vehicle Act

Services disobeying the ban will be fined Rs 5,000 for a first offence, and Rs 10,000 plus jail time for repeat offences

Companies can also be fined Rs 1 lakh

Bike taxis are more affordable; however, to continue service, companies will have to take steps to ensure they use commercial plates
