Gets a new design, with revised fairing & new headlight – Has a distinct MT look & feel to it

Lower set handlebars & slightly rear set footpegs – Offers an aggressive riding posture

Has a kerb weight of 193kg – Feels very light & agile, handles like a bike that’s 20kg lighter

Powered by an 890cc, liquid-cooled, inline-three engine – Outputs 119PS & 93Nm

Linear power delivery – Pulls hard in all gears & the bi-directional quickshifter works very well

Suspension setup on the Standard & Y-AMT variant isn’t track focused & feels slightly soft

Dual 298mm discs at front & a 245mm disc at rear – Inspires confidence & gets the job done

Y-AMT variant gets an automated manual transmission – But otherwise, same specs as the standard variant

Y-AMT offers two modes: D & D+ : System is far from perfect & not a good choice for the track

Overall, the MT-09 is an amazing bike & could be one of the best middleweight nakeds for India

Yamaha will likely launch the MT-09 in India by the end of 2024; will come in as CBUs from Japan
