Best Car

After seven years of driving a Toyota Etios Liva and covering around 57,000 kilometers, I've had to replace both shock absorbers, the steering wheel joint, and the front wheel bearing. In contrast, my previous ownership of a Maruti Alto was more reliable when it came to these parts. I've also encountered another owner with similar complaints about the Etios Liva. Based on my personal experience, I would caution against buying a Toyota Liva and suggest considering other brands, which could potentially save you a significant amount on costly replacement parts.

Toyota Etios Liva Pros and Cons

Etios Liva Positives Points: A genuinely spacious 5-seat hatchback, the Etios Liva offers a lot of storage space - a 13-litre cooled glovebox and 251 litres of bootspace! The engine and transmission are tuned for city driving while the electrically adjustable ORVMs, powerful A/C, steering-mounted multimedia controls and good all round visibility enhance comfort. The ride is comfortable while the handling is neutral. It is backed up by Toyota dependable quality, service network and affordable parts.

Etios Liva Negatives Points: Looks rather bland from the side while the interior quality feels sub par. There’s not even touchscreen infotainment system on offer. Other cost-cutting measures prevent it from feeling premium. For example, the A/C controls are old-school, dial-type units with flimsy build. The front seatbelts are not height adjustable and can prove to be cumbersome for shorter drivers. Also, there’s no dead pedal or space to place your left foot on longer drives.

Zigwheels Expert's Conclusion : The Toyota Etios Liva makes sense for those who prefer space and practicality over everything else. The 1.5-litre petrol is smooth and the 1.4-litre diesel is dependable. The Etios is let down by cost cutting measures and a bland design.

45k kilometres

4.3

this has been one of the most reliable and comfortable hatchback I have drove in my family. It has never let us down , no matter what. maintenance is next to nil. the only drawback has been it's mileage. Had I baught a diesel motor I would have never parted or thaught of parting by this beauty. I am thinking of letting this go after it has been with the family for 4 years and 45k kilometres. it still looks the same as brand new. The colours are well and truly intact as it was when I baught it 4 years back.

Light weight

4.0

Styling of this car is really well done. Performance is good, because of the light weight. 170 Nm of torque(diesel) it feels peppy. Very spacious, can sit 3 people easily at the back seat. Downsides are very less features and alot of hard plastics and cost cutting materials in cabin. Cabin insulation is average and Engine note is lovely.

Key pillars

4.3

Nothing to celebrate, But also nothing to complain of.The only drawback is its looks ( compared to other hatches like the polo).Mechanically very sorted, It will give a run for its money on all other hatches, Performance, Durability and reliability are the key pillars of this car.Overall very happy with the product.
