Renault Lodgy Stepway

After a long wait, Renault finally introduced its first MPV offering in the form of the Lodgy. The French car-maker launched the MPV at a starting price of Rs 8.19 lakh for the 85PS variant while the top-of-the-line RxZ 7 seater trim is priced at Rs 11.79 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). But Renault will soon introduce a more rugged version of the Lodgy, which was unveiled at a Bollywood function and has been christened Lodgy Stepway. Set to go against the Honda Mobilio RS, the Lodgy Stepway will then be the top-end trim.

The Renault Lodgy Stepway will sport black cladding around the perimeter of the MPV to give it a more aggressive stance up front. Aside from that, it will also have brushed chrome scuff plates, roof rails and dark metallic ORVMs. Moreover, it will also have the ‘Stepway’ badging across the front doors.

The changes aren’t just restricted to the outside. Step inside and you will be greeted by special blue stitched upholstery that will be seen only on the Stepway. To go with the upholstery, the AC vents and the instrument cluster too will get blue surrounds. Like the Duster 4x4, the Lodgy Stepway too will come with satellite navigation cruise control and reversing sensors, all of which are not part of the standard Lodgy’s equipment list.

Unlike the standard version, the Lodgy Stepway will only be offered in 110PS trim and in with that engine Renault claims that the Lodgy will return an efficiency of 20kmpl.

The Renault Lodgy Stepway is expected to be launched in June and should be priced at a premium of Rs 50,000 over the top-end RxZ variant of the standard version.
