The first generation BMW X6 gave birth to a new breed of cars. Ticking all the boxes expected from a Sports Activity Coupe, viz, comfort of a luxury car, exhilaration of a sports car and fun of an SUV, the X6 fared pretty well with over 1.5 lakh units sold till date. The company has now given the new X6 more aggressive looks and a better design that embodies the complete design philosophy and traditional BMW DNA with the face-lifted version due for launch on November 22 this year.
In terms of design, the new X6 will now have the fog lamps positioned higher than the predecessors’. The front overhang is in keeping with the beefy aura with chunky front end bumpers and a new design radiator grille. The modified tail lights add more character and a taut waist line and high stance enhance the coupe-like design, while the new design alloy wheels add more ‘oomph’.
The new X6’s engine options are expected to be the same as the outgoing model, the massive 4.4-litre V8 and 3-litre oil burner that produce 407PS and 235PS of power respectively. Both models will sport six-speed automatic dual-clutch transmissions. The features will be the same as its predecessor with more India specific tweaks such as bigger rubber on the wheels to soak up potholes, and an easy-to-use navigation system with updated maps etc.
The car’s expected starting price tag is Rs 75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi
