Maruti Suzuki Ciaz concept

The Auto Expo 2014 begins with a lukewarm start with Maruti Suzuki unveiling a concept sedan and a ready to launch crossover. The Ciaz concept carries Suzuki’s new design cues with a elegant character lines, sleek chrome grille, swept back headlamps and flared taillights. The Ciaz has been exclusively developed for the Indian and Chinese market, which means it will have good rear cabin comfort. Though Maruti has not share any details about the powertrain or launch details, but this large sedan will be replacing the SX4 sedan in near future and would be priced around Rs 7 to 10 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki SX4 S-Cross

The other major unveiling at the Maruti stall is the SX4 S-Cross is a compact crossover, which aims to tap on the recent growing demands of the segment. Based on the SX4 platform the S-Cross has a bold design with decent ground clearance and sump guards. The SX4 S-Coss is based on the European configuration, which has received maximum 5-star Euro NCAP overall safety rating. The SX4 S-Coss has been equipped with a new 4WD system, four driver-selectable driving modes for better performance. This crossover will be launched in India soon, and would probably carry over the SX4 engines - including the 1.6-litre petrol and the popular 1.3-litre multijet diesel engine. We expect it to be priced aggressively close to Rs 9 lakh.
