Features: The comfort amenities onboard the Toyota SUV comprise a 9-inch infotainment system, wireless phone charging, head-up display, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 360-degree camera, connected car technology, ventilated front seats, digital driver’s display and a panoramic sunroof. Its safety kit comprises six airbags, ABS with EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill-hold assist.

Engine: The Urban Cruiser Hyrder gets two 1.5-litre petrol powertrain options with mild-hybrid and self-charging strong hybrid. The latter has an output of 92PS/122Nm through the ICE unit and 80PS/141Nm from the electric motor which is geared using an e-CVT setup. The mild-hybrid powertrain produces 102PS/135Nm, available with both two-wheel and all-wheel drivetrains with the choice of a 5-speed manual and automatic torque converter (front-wheel drive only).

Rivals: Toyota’s compact SUV takes on the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor and Volkswagen Taigun.

Variants: The SUV is available in four trims: E, S, G, and V. The strong-hybrid powertrains are offered with the S, G, and V trim. There are seven colour hues to spec the SUV in: Cave Black, Sportin Red, Speedy Blue, Enticing Silver, Cafe White, Gaming Grey, and Midnight Black. Dual tone colour shades with a black roof include: Sportin Red, Speedy Blue, Enticing Silver, Cafe White.

Toyota has introduced the special edition Hyryder with an accessory pack worth Rs 50,817, which includes a range of accessories for its exterior and interior. It is to be noted that only S, G, and V variants of the mild-hybrid version alongside G and V variants of strong hybrid version benefit from the new special edition offer.

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder is a 5-seater compact SUV. It competes with popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Volkswagen Taigun, among others, and has the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara as its platform partner. Aside from a long list of features and modern design, it is also one of the rare cars in the segment that offers the option of all-wheel drive and a self-charging petrol hybrid powertrain.
