In today’s market conditions, the after sales and service experience is as important, if not more important than the actual buying experience. In the higher spectrum of the Indian automotive scene, most car buying decisions are based, not entirely on practicality, perceived value and looks but also by the ‘Word of mouth’ technique. Mercedes-Benz, with its legacy worldwide and in India have recently had to deal with a lot of competition from other similar marquees. However, after launching what seemed to be a never-ending salvo of exciting new products, Mercedes-Benz has today revealed its future strategies that concentrate more on the post sale experience. 

Amongst the new features that Mercedes-Benz India has decided to offer henceforth, the one that caught our attention the most was how service appointments could now be booked through a smartphone or a tablet using a special scan code. This would enable individuals who are generally busy to get apt services done to their cars without going through the complicated processes of getting a service appointment. Mercedes-Benz India has also inaugurated a new ‘National Remote Diagnostic Centre’ that allows technical experts in Pune assists technicians from any location in vehicle diagnosis with the aid of technology, taking control of the diagnosis unit through remote access. 

Mercedes launches new after sales initiative

Speaking on the occasion, Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO Mercedes-Benz India said,  “Premium After-Sales service is the key differentiator while investing on a luxury vehicle. We value our commitment for our customers and going forward the industry best standards set by Mercedes-Benz will create a new benchmark to take a lead. In 2013, our team aims to service/Repair more than 100,000 Mercedes-Benz cars across India and delight each and every of our valued customers”.

Apart from these new introductions, Mercedes-Benz has also taken steps to improve its on-road assistance for three years after purchase of a Mercedes-Benz vehicle as a part of their comprehensive three-year warranty package. As a part of the on-road assistance program, Mercedes-Benz India has also equipped 20 special Mercedes-Benz B Class vehicles with a host of special tools that can help mechanics in case of emergency situations.
