Indian Motorcycle launched in our country

Its glad tiding for fans of the iconic Indian Motorcycle as iconic American two-wheeler manufacturer made its debut in our two-wheeler market by launching the Indian Chief range consisting of three motorcycles. The Indian brand will be brought to our shores by Polaris, which is the parent company of Indian Motorcycle and acquired the brand in 2011. Polaris is already present in our country through its range of ATVs. The models which were launched include the Indian Chief Classic, Indian Chief Vintage and Indian Chieftain. The 2014 Indian Chief range is powered by the newly developed Thunder Stroke 1,819cc, V-twin engine pumping out an astonishing 139Nm of torque and close to 100PS of power and the engine is mated to a six-speed transmission. The new range of Indian Chief has been built from the ground up and was completed in a short span of just 27 months. 

The Thunder Stroke is the first new engine to come out of Indian Motorcycle for the past 70 years and is the largest displacement production V-twin mill on sale currently. The bike will be loaded with standard features like ABS, cruise control and keyless ignition. The Indian Chief Range will be pitched against its traditional rival Harley-Davidson in our market. The first dealership will be opened in Delhi in the coming few days and deliveries are expected to commence by mid-March. Company officials, at the launch said the second dealership is scheduled to come up at Bangalore and other cities will be added in the near future. The bikes will come into our market via the CBU (Completely Built Unit).

Indian Chief Classic: Rs 26.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Indian Chief Vintage: Rs 29.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Indian Chieftain: Rs 33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)
