ICML, the passenger vehicle wing of the Sonalika Group have launched a new variant of their Rhino MUV, namely the Delite.

ICML has been tinkering with the Rhino MUV for quite some time. The company has already introduced three variants, namely the Winner, Royale, and Xciter, in the market and adding to the list is the Delite.

The Delite is possibly the most advanced and upgraded version of the Rhino-Rx MUV and it comes fitted with the latest 2.0 L TCIC Common Rail Direct Fuel Injection (CRD-FI) system developed by Continental International. The new engine delivers 120BHP @ 4000 rpm and generates a decent torque of 285Nm between 1750-2500 rpm. Mated to a 5 speed gearbox, the new generation engine promises to offer better refinement, efficiency and power delivery as compared to its predecessor. ICML also claims that NVH levels are lower on the Delite variant.

The blokes at ICML have worked hard to make the Delite rather up market and have taken the liberty to kit it out accordingly. The vehicle comes with a two piece instrument panel in a dual colour theme and 3D night glow effect, a digital LED Electronic Instrument Cluster, a new integrated console which offers great utility with a built in mobile charge and bottle holding spaces. Further to this, the company claims that the materials used for trim and finish are of a higher quality in order to make the Delite more in sync with high end MUVs. What remains to be seen is just how is this new variant going to be accepted in the market which is dominated by global players.

ICML has witnessed limited success with the Rhino MUV in its various avatars, however the company is bullish on future prospects. Till date, the Rhino has only managed to find a decent following in the taxi segment especially in B and C category cities across India. The company has been steadily increasing their market footprint by tapping into new markets; however penetration into the metro cities is still at a nascent stage. ICML is firmly working towards extending their brand portfolio in order to suit a variety of customers and therefore make inroads in new markets. The Delite has been positioned as an up market product and the only question that remains to be answered is whether this MUV variant will live up to customer expectations.
