Hero MotoCorp Ignitor

Commuter motorcycles have always been perceived as feature-deficient and dated. However, the USP for such two-wheelers has always has been their fuel efficiency. Japanese giant Honda broke this myth by introducing CBF Stunner, the first ever premium 125cc bike. It not only delivered in terms of mileage, but also on design and features. Now with Hero and Honda parting ways, Hero MotorCorp, the world’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer has come up with the Ignitor, its own premium 125cc motorcycle . Priced at Rs 55,590 ex-showroom Delhi for the drum brake version, it is Rs 464 cheaper than the Honda sibling.

Sharing its underpinnings and engine with the CBF Stunner, the Ignitor is powered by the ATFT 125cc, single-cylinder petrol motor that delivers 11PS of power @ 8,000rpm and 11Nm of torque @ 5,000rpm.  “Every new launch of Hero MotoCorp flows from a clear strategy to further consolidate its leadership position across segments. With Ignitor, we aim to bolster our presence in the growing deluxe segment. It combines sturdiness and superior technology with contemporary style and yet comes with an attractive price tag. We are confident that with such an irresistible package, Ignitor would definitely appeal across the young adult segments,” said Anil Dua, senior vice president, marketing & sales, Hero MotoCorp. Power to the wheels is transferred through a 5-speed gearbox with a one down/four up shift pattern. The Ignitor is expected to be easier to ride, thanks to the availability of torque at a lower rev range. In terms of features, the prominent ones are the digital speedometer and kick-starter while the Honda sibling does away with the kick-start and employs a full analogue instrument cluster. Other features include dual-tone rear-view mirrors, body coloured rear grip and pseudo air intakes with the Ignitor moniker on the flanks.

Shod with 17-inch tubeless tyres and alloy wheels, the Ignitor is available in two variants, the disc brake version priced at Rs 57,900 ex-showroom Delhi, in four colour options, namely Pearl White, Sports Red, Vibrant Blue and Panther Black Metallic.
