Yamaha sells 36,581 two-wheelers in April 2012

Yamaha India has recorded a 6 percent year-over-year increase in sales with 36,581 units sold during April 2012 compared to 34,476 units in the year-ago period. The company is looking to enhance relationships with customers and increase brand identification through various endeavours

Yamaha India has recorded a 6 percent growth in sales for the month of April 2012 on a year-over-year basis. The Japanese bike maker sold a total of 36,581 units during the month of April 2012 as compared to 34,476 units in April 2011. Of the 36,581 units manufactured in India, 26,944 were sold in the domestic market as against 25,817 units sold during April 2011, which amounts to a growth of 4.4 percent. Vehicles exported comprised 9,637 units during April 2012 as compared to 8,695 units during April 2011. 

Speaking on the occasion, Hiroyuki Suzuki, CEO & MD, India Yamaha Motor said, “We see a lot of potential in the Indian motorcycle market and are continuously making efforts to give the best to our customers. We had entered the financial year on a high note and hope to sustain it throughout the year. Our models - YZF-R15 Version 2.0, FZ series and SZ series are doing very well in their respective segments and are playing an instrumental role in driving the sales for our company. Recently, we also introduced new variants of the FZ series to add freshness to the product. We are confident that these variants too will be an instant hit among the biking enthusiasts.”

Yamaha India has been strengthening relationships with customers through campaigns like ‘YES!YAMAHA’ to provide the best 3S (Sales, Service, Spare parts) experience. Other consumer-centric marketing initiatives by Yamaha India include the Yamaha One Make Race for professional racing riders in the country, Yamaha Safe Riding Science (YSRS) for educating young riders on riding safety and Yamaha Service Camps. 

Yamaha India will be conducting the Yamaha Riding Clinic III in Chennai this month where ex-MotoGP rider, Yoshiaki Kato will instruct and guide young racing enthusiasts. Yamaha India, in association with The Indian Football Association (West Bengal), will be hosting the Yamaha Asean Cup U-13 Football 2012.
