Yamaha sales increase by 24 per cent in June 2015

Yamaha India released sales figure for the month of June 2015. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer witnessed an overall sales growth of 24 per cent
June turned out to be a good month for Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd as it registered a healthy growth of 26 per cent. The Japanese two-wheeler giant sold 51,432 units in June 2015. In comparison it had only sold 40,666 units sold in June last year which results in a sales growth of 26 per cent. Talking about exports, Yamaha India shipped 14,708 units in June 2015 as opposed to 12,819 units in the corresponding month last year thereby hiking exports by 15 per cent. Overall sales growth combining domestic and export market stood at 24 per cent for Yamaha.
Commenting on the performance, Roy Kurian, Vice President – Sales & Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt. Ltd, said,” The incessant growth numbers are a sign of Yamaha’s robust business plan and strategic customer engagement programs. This month we witnessed brisk growth due to our robust product line-up and new launches during the year so far. Our new stylish Scooter Fascino and 125 cc bike Yamaha Saluto, have indeed been key in boosting our sales. Also, the new range of Alpha, Ray and Ray Z scooters for the year 2015 enabled with Yamaha’s Next Generation ‘Blue Core’ engine concept continues to be a fundamental growth driver for us. We are hopeful on our sales growth and will be able to post some record numbers in the coming months.”
Yamaha recently launched two new offerings in the Indian two-wheeler market. The Yamaha Saluto is a 125cc commuter offering and the Japanese bikemaker is betting big on it to boost its sales in future. The Japanese manufacturer also introduced its fourth scooter offering in India in the form of the stylish Fascino. The new Yamaha Fascino has been marketed as a premium scooter offering with its retro-modern design language.
