After the biggest diesel scandals of all time that Volkswagen (VW) has faced, now, the German carmaker is moving ahead with a goal of how to revive the company's image. In order to do that, the company is now stepping towards the zero-emission mobility i.e. a range of electric vehicles (EV). As reported by a German publication, VW will showcase its first electric vehicle at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
According to reports, the new EV will have its external dimensions similar to that of the Golf, but, the EV will be pretty spacious and just to give you an example, it will be as roomy as the India-bound Passat sedan. We expect the German carmaker to present the production version of the EV by 2018. The car will have an astonishing range of about 400-600km (300 miles), and after you have drained out the battery pack completely, it will take only 15 minutes for a full charge.
Tesla recently launched the Model S, which is supposed to be the world's quickest-accelerating production car with a range of over 300 miles. Just like VW, all the manufacturers who are producing EV are planning to challenge Tesla, but, VW is producing the EV now, while Tesla has already crossed that milestone long back. Now, we just have to wait and watch to see what is the final production product of the EV like that VW is going to offer us.
