Volkswagen Vento BS6 Variant-Wise Prices Revealed. Select Variants Now Dearer

• Priced from Rs 8.87 lakh to Rs 13.30 lakh.
• Only select variants get a marginal price hike.
• Powered by a 110PS 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine.

Volkswagen India has revealed the detailed variant-wise price list of the BS6-compliant Vento on its official website. Launched back in March 2020, the Vento BS6 comes with a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine only. It’s offered in four variants: Trendline, Comfortline Plus, Highline and Highline Plus. Here’s the detailed price list:

As seen in the table above, only select variants of the Vento have received a marginal price hike. The base-spec Trendline is pricier by Rs 9,000 and the automatic variants by Rs 11,000. Prices of the Comfortline, Highline MT, and Highline Plus MT remain unchanged.  

The BS6-compliant Vento comes with a new 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine that develops 110PS of power and 175Nm of torque. It’s offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter. The 1.6-litre MPI, 1.5-litre TDI, and the 1.2-litre TSI engines have been discontinued from the Vento’s lineup. This means the Vento also loses out on the quick-shifting 7-speed DSG found in the diesel and turbo-petrol units.  

The Vento BS6 locks horns with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, as well as the upcoming Honda City 2020 and Skoda Rapid TSI. Will the lack of a diesel engine be a black mark on its resume? Let us know in the comments below.
