Volkswagen Ameo deliveries begin

Volkswagen India has commenced the deliveries of its sub-4m compact sedan, the Ameo, in the country. To recall, the booking for the Ameo started on May 12, 2016, the same day as its first roadshow. The Ameo is a compact sedan built on the same platform as the Polo and takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Figo Aspire in the compact sedan segment.

The Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India Michael Mayer said the Ameo had garnered positive responses at its debut during the 2016 Auto Expo and its journey across various Indian cities as well from prospective customers. He expressed his happiness at the commencement of the deliveries of the Ameo as it is a 'Made in India and Made for India' product by Volkswagen. Announced the introduction of special care packages, Mayer called them a way to ensure positive ownership experience to accompany the Ameo at an attractive price.

The Ameo is Volkswagen's first Made-in-India product from the scratch. It comes equipped with Dual front Airbags and ABS as standard across all variants. The Ameo comes with features such as cooled glovebox, climatronic A/c with dust and pollen filter, rear view camera and parking sensors, electrical adjustable and foldable outside rear view mirrors, and touchscreen in-car entertainment system with Mirror Link and iPod connectivity. Among the first in segment features of the Ameo are cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, static cornering lights, and anti-pinch power windows both at the front and the back.

The Ameo is now available for purchase across all Volkswagen showrooms in India. Customers can also book the Ameo through its mobile app available on the Google Play Store. Volkswagen currently offers the Polo, Vento, Jetta, Beetle and Ameo for purchase in India.
