TVS Motor will launch the new Apache RR 310 in India tomorrow. The new Apache RR 310 is the first full-faired motorcycle from TVS  for the Indian market and will be its new flagship motorcycle. The new motorcycle was first unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo in concept form and was christened TVS Akula then. The TVS bike is based on the BMW G 310 R which is built by TVS at its Hosur production facility. Talking about price, the new TVS Apache RR 310 is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh to 2.25 lakh (ex-showroom).

The bike has been spotted testing on many occasions and from the pictures posted online it is safe to say that the new Apache RR 310 will have a sporty and striking design. The bike has been equipped with twin LED headlamps at the front that sits below a large windscreen. The fairing is a sharp and sculpted unit while the bike features a LED tail lamp that looks like the devil’s horns. It also gets vertically stacked all-digital instrument console which also includes a lap timer. Underneath the fairing sits a 313cc single-cylinder motor which is similar to the BMW G 310 R’s engine. Power figures are also identical - 34PS of peak power and 28Nm of maximum torque.

Its arch rival, the KTM RC 390 develops 43.5PS of peak power and 36Nm of maximum torque. The RR 310’s engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it might also feature slipper clutch. The riding posture of the new Apache RR 310 is also more in sync with a sports tourer, with raised clip-on handlebars and slightly rear-set footpegs.

The new TVS Apache RR 310 also shares a lot of cycle parts with the G 310 R, including the alloy wheels, exhaust muffler, golden-finished USD forks, rear monoshock and switchgear. The bike features a trellis frame, petal disc brakes on both ends, and dual-channel ABS is likely to be an optional extra as well. The new TVS Apache RR 310 will compete against the KTM RC 390,  Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Benelli 302R.
