Toyota Kirloskar Motor Receives National Exporter Award

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) was recently awarded the National Award for Engineering Export Excellence at the 47th Engineering Export Promotion Council of India (EEPCI). The Japenese auto giant received a gold trophy as an award for their exemplary export performance under the Merchant Exporter category.

Sandeep Bhagat, deputy general manager, Toyota Kirloskar Motor received the award from Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu, union minister of Indian Railways, at an award ceremony that was held in Delhi. Expressing his views on this delightful occasion, Raju B. Ketkale, senior vice president, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, "We are delighted to receive this award as we see it as recognition of our efforts in designing & developing the best in class cars. As a corporate, committed towards the growth of the country's economy, Toyota Kirloskar Motor aligns all its processes to the Quality, Durability, and Reliability (QDR) Philosophy, which has resulted in the manufacturing of globally competitive automotive technologies and processes. Such recognition stimulates to further foray with more & more products into the international trade space, thereby fostering a spirit of healthy growth to excel in export performance in future too. In the year 2014-2015, we were successful in achieving good export numbers. TKM's exports from the country stands at 12.08% on total turnover showcasing our successful determination to bring the Indian Automobile Industry to hit the global chart."

In the past, TKM has been awarded the Exporter Excellence award by EEPCI for 10 years at the southern region level and 6 years at the national level. Toyota's manufacturing plant which is located in Bidadi, Bangalore, rural Karnataka, exports Completely Built Units (CBUs) like the Etios and Etios Liva, along with auto parts, to countries across the globe such as Thailand, Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines, Argentina and South Africa.
