Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata are bringing a host of facelifted models to the Auto Expo

Before we even knew, we are halfway through January and heading towards February. Now February 2020 is a special month for us car peeps as it hosts the 15th Auto Expo. We’ve already compiled a list of all the SUVs, sedans, hatchbacks, concepts that will make their presence felt at the Auto Expo mall in Noida. Although not as paramount as a new model or a generation change, facelifted versions of the existing cars are also something that we can't miss out on. So, here are the top 5 that you should look out for:

2020 Hyundai Verna

Hyundai will be launching the facelifted Verna at the Auto Expo. The sedan receives a breath of fresh air in the form of cosmetic updates to the front, rear and the cabin. New grille, headlights and tail lamps are the highlights on the outside. What it might also gain are the Seltos’ 1.5-litre CRDI and VTVT powertrains. Hyundai is also most likely to slap in a premium over the current pricing.

Vitara Brezza Facelift

The Vitara Brezza was in a league of its own when the competition wasn't as tense as now. With even more subcompact SUVs cropping up in the next few months, Maruti Suzuki will update the Brezza to keep it relevant in the segment. Changes include a new twin-slit chrome grille, dual barrel headlamps and a tweaked front bumper. The sub-4m SUV is also expected to gain subtle changes to the cabin. The biggest change, however, will be the introduction of the 1.2- or 1.5-litre petrol engine.

The facelifted Hyundai Tucson facelift gets a host of updates such as the large cascading grille, redesigned bumpers,  LED headlamps and different alloy wheels as well. Hyundai has also updated the cabin which now sports a floating infotainment system and other subtle updates. On the mechanical front, the existing 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines are likely to be upgraded to BS6. We expect an unveil at the Auto Expo 2020 with a launch in late 2020.

Ignis Facelift

Spotted undisguised in India, the facelifted Ignis is all set for a launch at the Auto Expo 2020. As with every facelift, it gets a cosmetic makeover, which we are not fans of. The new chrome clad grille doesn't help either. Only the front-end sees changes as the side profile and rear end remains the same. Inside, the Ignis might get minor changes and a new Smartplay infotainment system. Under the hood will be the same K12b 1.2-litre petrol engine in BS6 guise.

2020 Skoda Superb

Skoda has some ambitious plans laid out for India and the facelifted Superb is one of them. The biggest news here is that the Superb will come with the sole options of a BS6 petrol engine. The engine in question will likely be a 2.0-litre TSI developing 190PS and 320Nm. These figures will be sent to the front wheels with the help of a 7-speed DSG. Other changes include revised head lamps, tail lamps and alloy wheels. Cabin changes are subtle and highlights include an all-digital cluster and a 9.2-inch infotainment system. Expect a premium over the current pricing which starts from Rs 26 lakh.

Bonus

Tata

Tata is bringing not one but three facelifted models to the Auto Expo 2020. These include the updated Tiago,Tigor and the Nexon. The Tiago and the Tigor get a mature front-end design while the Nexon follows the footsteps of its electric iteration.
