The Tata Nano 'Pelican' Snapped While Testing

Tata 'Pelican', reportedly the codename for the next upgrade of Nano, has been snapped while testing somewhere on the outskirts of the city. The overall appearance of the Tata 'Pelican' is almost similar to the current Nano GenX, but it's clear from the spy shots that the car has got new headlight clusters and redesigned bumpers. The size of the new car seems slightly big. And hence, it may be placed between the Nano GenX Nano and the Tata Tiago.

On the outside, the car will be getting larger 13-inch wheels, a redesigned hood, a repositioned fuel inlet and a washer for the front windshield. The Tata 'Pelican' might borrow some of its interiors from the Tata Tiago.

Speaking about the interiors, the car is supposed to get a redesigned dashboard and one of the major upgrades might be the placement of the instrument cluster right in front of the driver, rather than in the middle of the dash. The center console of the dashboard could get new AC vents and Harman infotainment system which is used in the Tiago. The car might also get new fabric upholstery, that will suit the overall upgrade.

Mechanical details about the car are scarce, but, the car might just get a larger engine, reportedly a three-cylinder motor, which might deliver up to 55.76 to 60.83PS of power. The engine will be coupled to the same manual or the automated manual transmission gearbox. The car could also get a power steering and an openable hatch-door.

We have no idea about the pricing of the Tata 'Pelican', but, the car is expected the to launch somewhere towards the end of 2017 or early 2018.
