Tata has updated the 7-inch infotainment system on the flagship variant of the Tiago and Tigor to now support Apple CarPlay. The larger display infotainment system was introduced when the cars were given the ZX+ variant last year in October for the Tigor and in December for the Tiago. Back then, the system only had Android Auto but was still a worthy update as it replaced the 5-inch touchscreen which did not get either of the two smartphone compatibility options. Existing customers of the XZ+ variant can too get the software update by visiting the service centre.

The ZX+ variant for the Tiago gets a dual-tone paint option in Berry Red, Pearlescent White, Canyon Orange and Ocean Blue colours. It gets dual-barrel smoked headlamps with projector lamps, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, auto-folding and electrically adjustable ORVMS, new dual-tone full fabric seat covers and fabric roof liner, and an additional two tweeters.

This update now beings Tiago’s infotainment system on par with the rivals like Maruti WagonR and the Hyundai Santro. However, in the recent comparison, we did of the three, the Tiago’s infotainment felt laggier than the other two and took more time to take commands. But its 8-speaker sound system is the best in the segment.

Both the Tiago and the Tigor are powered by the 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol ‘Revotron’ motor developing 85PS/114Nm paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel variants are powered by a 1.05-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged engine developing 70PS/140Nm paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The diesel, however, might get discontinued after the BSVI norms come into effect in April 2020.
