Tata Motors announced the launch of its sporty new hatchback, the Tiago, with cutting-edge design, technology and driving dynamics in Kathmandu on August 29, 2016. The car will be showcased on August 30, 2016, at the NADA Auto Show, with a starting price of NPR 22.55 lakh (ex-showroom, Kathmandu) for the Revotron 1.2-litre petrol variant.

During the launch, Johnny Oommen, head – Passenger Vehicles International Business, Tata Motors, said, “With the aim to deliver the best of products and services to our customers, we at Tata Motors are delighted to bring the Tiago hatchback to the Nepal market. This globally benchmarked car represents the next big leap in our transformation journey and we are confident that Tiago’s strong and distinct character will make it stand out in this highly popular but immensely competitive segment.”

Tata Motors will also cater to the customer after sales service duties and take it to another level through a mobile app – Tata Motors Connect. This app will hope to make the post-purchase experience stress-free and customers will stay connected with the Tata service centre at all times. There will be other existing value-added services such as 48-hour repair guarantee, fast-track service and 24-hour customer assistance centre for a hassle-free service experience and also free pick-up and drop services, along with the highest network across Nepal.

The car will be available only in petrol variants with the Revotron 1.2-litre petrol engine. It has been designed and programmed to deliver a superior fuel economy as well as a peppy driving experience. The Tiago comes with multi-drive modes – City and Eco. It also has many safety features, which includes dual front airbags, advance 9th-generation ABS with EBD and corner stability control, and rear parking sensors.
