Tata Hexa, the MPV from the domestic carmaker, Tata Motors, is all set to be launched in India by next month. With less than a month remaining in the MPV's launch, the production version of the car was recently snapped in Mumbai. Along with that, the engine specifications of the Hexa have also been confirmed based on its official spec sheet.
The car that we recently spotted, was the top-of-the-line XT variant in a Metallic Blue colour. The new Hexa, on the outside features projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a muscular front bumper, black chrome grille, and husky character lines across the bonnet and side profile. Tata has added features like plastic cladding under the wheel arches, sporty 19-inch alloy wheels, and long roof rails, on the MPV. The Hexa measures 4788mm in length, 1903mm in width, 1791mm in height, has a wheelbase of 2850mm and boasts a huge ground clearance of 200mm. Apart from that, the MPV also gets a huge 60-litre fuel tank.
Mechanically, the car will be powered by the 2.2-litre VARICOR 400, oil burner, that is found under the hood of the top-spec Tata Safari Storme. The engine is capable of producing 156.13PS of power and a massive 400Nm of peak torque. Along with the 6-speed manual gearbox, the car will also come with the option of a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission and a 4x4 system.
Some specifications of the Hexa were revealed when it was showcased early this year at the 2016 Auto Expo. The MPV will sit above the Tata Safari Storme. Once launched, it will lock horns with the Mahindra XUV500 and the Toyota Innova Crysta.
