The facelifted S-Cross is likely to be launched by Maruti Suzuki by this year end or by early 2017

Sketches of the 2017 version of the S-Cross have been floating on the Internet for quite some time now. The S-Cross is a premium crossover hatchback by Maruti Suzuki that is sold in India under the Nexa banner. Now, production spec version images of the 2017 model have emerged of the car, possibly snapped at Suzuki’s Hungarian plant. The facelifted version of the S-Cross is expected to make its official unveil at the 2016 Paris Motor Show, followed by its sale in global markets.

Looking at the image we can see that the front of the 2017 model has been given a bold look as compared to the current model. The grille features vertical chrome slits that is flanked by swept back headlight units. The projectors have been mounted in a new housing with chrome accents. Changes are mainly to the front portion of the hatch while the side continues to have the same profile. The rear is not visible in the image but is expected to receive some cosmetic treatment as well.

Maruti Suzuki is likely to continue to power the 2017 version of the S-Cross with the existing 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engines. Although we’re sceptical of it, Maruti Suzuki might consider putting the newly developed 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine in the facelifted model. With these updates and possible new engine options the S-Cross might just bring in the numbers like Maruti Suzuki has been receiving for the Vitara Brezza and the Baleno.
