The Suzuki Katana is one of the most beautiful, legendary motorcycles from the Japanese brand’s stables. It blends retro looks with sci-fi appeal and modern mechanicals, making it a unique-looking concoction. A Japanese publication has made a gorgeous rendering of the motorcycle in a smaller-engined guise, based on the Suzuki GSX-S125.
It has also given it a sporty twist with tiny winglets at the headlamp cowl, bar-end mirrors, clutch cover and more importantly, a Yoshimura exhaust. The powertrain and underpinnings have been carried over from the naked motorcycle. Its 124.4cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor churns out 15PS and 11.50Nm, linked to a 6-speed transmission. Underpinnings include a telescopic front fork, rear monoshock, and petal discs on both ends with dual-channel ABS.
Overall, this rendering is quite well done and it makes us wonder whether Suzuki should consider introducing a smaller version of the Katana. Imagine if the Japanese brand made a Katana based on the India-spec Suzuki Gixxer 250! The quarter-litre naked looks a little too similar to its younger sibling, the Gixxer, and could really do with a proper makeover. This way, Suzuki will be able to capitalise on the Katana’s legacy and also establish itself much better in the 250cc segment. What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments below.
