The news of Suzuki working on a new quarter-litre, fully-faired offering has been doing the rounds since December 2015. Spy images and leaked patent images have been circulating on the internet for a while now. Putting an end to the wait, Suzuki Motorcycles has finally unveiled the GSX-250R at the ongoing China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition. As per reports, the bike will be available in the China motorcycle market from next month.

The GSX-250R can be called as a scaled-down version of the powerful GSX-R1000. At the front, the bike sports an arrow-like headlamp design. The sporty and chiseled tank, followed by the edgy tail section complements the overall design of the motorcycle. Other highlights include raised clip-on handlebars, a fully digital instrument console, split-seat design, centre-set footpegs and a tall visor.

The GSX-250R is powered by the 250cc twin-mill motor that was previously offered on the Inazuma 250 that was sold in India for a brief period. The motor is capable of producing 25PS of power and 23.4Nm of peak torque and comes mated to a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The motorcycle tips the scale at 178 kg.

Suspension duties are likely to be carried forward from the Inuzuma which are 37mm telescopic KYB forts at the front and KYB adjustable monoshock at the rear. The bike is equipped with a 290mm disc at the front and 240mm disc at the back to take care of braking.

For the Chinese motorcycle market, the Suzuki GSX-250R will be offered in six colour shades - Poseidon Blue, Glacier White, Cool Black, Fashion Black, Transparent Red/Black and Crystal Blue/White.

As far as the India launch is concerned, there is no confirmation from Suzuki India regarding the same. If introduced, the GSX-250R will compete against the likes of the Honda CBR250R, Yamaha YZF-R3 and the KTM RC200.
