Skoda has announced an increase in price of all its models by 2-3 per cent

Skoda Yeti

Going with the end of the year trend, Skoda announced an increase in price of all its models effective 1st January, 2016. The hike in price will vary from Rs 14,000 to Rs 50,000 depending on the model and the variant. Currently, Skoda has four models on sale, including the C-segment sedan Rapid, the Yeti SUV, the D-Segment Octavia and their flagship offering Superb.

While Skoda hasn’t made an official statement regarding the reason of the hike, this is in light of the increasing cost of inputs and the reduction in the value of the rupee. Skoda isn’t the only car maker to announce an increase in price. Earlier this month, Hyundai, Toyota, BMW as well as Mercedes-Benz have announced a hike in their prices.
