Skoda Kodiaq Launching Today

At last, the day has come when the Kodiaq will finally set its foot in the Indian market. By now everyone must be knowing what the car is all about, but for those who don’t, here’s a little refresher: the Skoda Kodiaq is the first 7-seater SUV by the Czech manufacturer. It will challenge segment leaders like the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.

This is the fourth launch by Skoda this year after the Octavia facelift, Rapid Monte Carlo and the Octavia RS. The Octavia facelift was launched in July this year followed by the launch of the Rapid Monte Carlo and the Octavia RS last month.

The Kodiaq is equipped with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-way electrically adjustable front seats, 3-zone automatic climate control system, powered tailgate, reverse parking camera with top view and a panoramic sunroof. Considering the equipment the Kodiaq has on offer, we expect it to be priced around Rs 32 lakh.

The Kodiaq is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which produces 150PS of power and 340Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox and gets paddle shifters and multiple driving modes as well. The power from the engine is sent to the wheels via an all-wheel-drive system. Skoda might introduce a petrol-powered Kodiaq later this year, which is expected to be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine seen on the Octavia RS.
