Sachin Singh Leads In Leg 1 Of Maruti Suzuki Mughal Rally

The first leg of the fifth edition of Maruti Suzuki ‘Mughal Rally’, has been completed after it took off at 5am on August 20 from Hari Niwas, Jammu. The lead on day one of the championship has been held by Sachin Singh and his navigator M. Prakash, driving their Swift. Sachin Singh is closely tailed by Subir Roy and his navigator Nirav Mehta in second position, who, too, are driving the Swift. While the third position is secured by Ajgar Ali and M Mustafa in their S-Cross.

The ‘Mughal Rally’ is the fourth round of the 2016 Maruti Suzuki FMSCI National Super League TSD (Time-Speed-Distance) Rally Championship (MS-NStsdRC), which had a grand flag-off on August 19. Leg one started from Hari Niwas Palace in Jammu and the route consisted of locales of Muradpur, Rajauri before the teams finally entered Jammu again by the evening. The participants have covered a total distance of approximately 350km so far.  

Commenting at the end of leg one, Sachin Singh, “I am quite excited to maintain my lead on day 1 of the championship. Despite having participated in the TSD rallies before, the challenges never seem short of taking me by surprise. The organisers have brought a lot of innovation in the rallying so that the mettle of holy trinity – the navigator, driver and the vehicle, is tested to the core. I am looking forward to a great day 2.”

Speaking of leg two, it will start again five in the morning on August 21, and will traverse through some of the most scenic locations of Gulabgarh, Ramban, Patnitop aside from crisscrossing the Peer Panjal mountain ranges. Stay tuned.
