A true Ducatista, Mayur Sakpal, has become the first proud owner of the exclusive 1299 Panigale S Anniversario Edition in India. Exclusive because it is the 227th out of the 500 units to be built by the renowned Italian bike maker to commemorate 90 years of the brand. It was a special occasion for Ducati-Infinity Mumbai dealership to have the bike roll out of their showroom. Ducati had unveiled the special edition bike at this year’s World Ducati Week held in Milano, Italy. In India, this Ducati carries a sticker price of Rs 47.17 lakh (ex-showroom).

Talking about the bike, the first thing to grab your attention is the special red and white paint scheme paired with matte gold-coloured forged aluminium Marchesini wheels. The overall design of the bike continues to remain the same as the stock version. The exclusivity of the bike is maintained by having the top yokes of each motorcycle etched with the limited production count. It also gets a titanium Akrapovic underbelly racing exhaust as standard fitment. Other highlights include carbon-fibre heel guards and hugger, a carbon and aluminium alloy number plate holder, lithium battery and also a different rear monoshock unit which together contributes to shedding 2.5 kg from the stock bike’s weight.

Firepower to the Anniversario Edition continues to be from the same 1285cc liquid-cooled, Superquadro L-Twin, 4 Desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder motor that develops 205PS of max power at 10,500rpm and 144.6Nm of peak torque at 8,750rpm. The package is completed with a 6-speed gearbox equipped with a slipper clutch and Ducati’s quick shift system. Other cycle parts include a fully adjustable 43mm Ohlins NIX30 at the front and Ohlins TTX36 unit at the rear. Braking duties are handled by top-of-the-line, twin 330mm dia disc with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc M50 four-piston calipers at the front and a 245mm dia disc at the rear with two-piston caliper. The system comes with cornering ABS as standard fitment. And if all this was not enough, to top it off, the Anniversario Edition gets some added electronic features such as EVO version of the Ducati Traction Control (DTC) and Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) systems.
