The increase in Delhi ex-showroom prices ranges from Rs 1,100 in the case of the Himalayan to Rs 3,600 in the case of the Classic 500 Chrome

The Classic 500 Chrome sees the biggest hike in its prices at Rs 3,600

Royal Enfield is one of the fastest growing motorcycle brands in India. It is also perhaps one of the most iconic brands in the world, using the same basic design for all its bike since making its first motorcycle in 1901. The design has not seen much change even when it came to India in 1955. However, that was a long time ago and since then, Royal Enfield has been churning out products that cater to different users and tastes. While the Bullet has stayed more or less the same, it is offerings like the Thunderbird, Continental GT and the Himalayan that continue to increase its popularity.

Not to make the enthusiasts sad but Royal Enfield has increased the prices of all its models. While Royal Enfield has not assigned any reason to the price hike, it is in the range of Rs 1,100-3,600. Among all its models, the Himalayan is the least affected with the price hike. Its price has increased by Rs 1,100 and now stands at Rs 1,56,331 (ex-showroom Delhi). The most affected model is the Classic 500 Chrome whose price has increased by Rs 3,600 and now stands at Rs 1,78,058 (ex-showroom Delhi).

There is more than just the price hike to deal with when buying a Royal Enfield today. The increasing popularity of Royal Enfield's products has led to long waiting periods. You may be asked to wait for 1-2 months if you buy the Classic 350 or the Bullet 350, and that too in Delhi. Outside, the waiting period can be even longer. However, there is no letting up in the demand of the company's motorcycles. Also, this is not the first price hike for Royal Enfield products as they have been increased before within a year's time.

Now, while the news is not great, the target audience of Royal Enfield's products is a loyal one. It means they would not be bothered much by the price hike across the model line-up.
