The bike is based on the F4 and marks the first time Zagato has partnered with a motorcycle maker

The F4Z marks the first time that Zagato has partnered with a motorcycle maker ever

There are few motorcycle makers in the world whose prestige value either equals or goes beyond that of Ducati. MV Agusta is one of them. Unlike Ducati, though, it does not have many bikes. However, it has that one bike which can stop everyone dead in their tracks even though it is largely the same as it was since it first came out almost two decades ago. This bike is the F4.

The F4 is an icon of the motorcycling world. From its design to its engine, it is the embodiment of one man's vision of what a perfect motorcycle is. A product of the legendary Massimo Tambourini, it is a legend. Well, so is Zagato. The Italian coachbuilder is known for its products that result from its association with various automakers like BMW and, quite recently, Aston Martin. This time, though, MV Agusta and Zagato have come together for a special project which will be called the “F4Z”. So what makes the F4Z special, you ask?

The F4Z is based on the MV Agusta F4 and carries its chassis and the four-cylinder engine too. However, it is being reported that it will sport the 204PS version of the engine. It sports the same wheels as the F4RR and borrows the Brembo Monobloc M50 brakes, Marzocchi fork up front and Sachs monoshock at the back from the standard F4. The F4Z carries the retro-futuristic styling from Zagato and it looks amazing. You will be even more awed by the fact that this is the first time Zagato has ever partnered with a motorcycle maker.

The F4Z has been teased till now via images and videos. However, certain design features of the bike do stand out, such as the muscular fuel tank and the windscreen (it is not exactly a windscreen). If you look closely at the image, the front mudguard sports the “M” of the MV Agusta logo. There is the “Z” that represents Zagato on the fairing of the bike. All in all, the design of the bike does away with sharp lines and is more curvaceous. The image also shows the bike to be a single-seater and having a single-sided swingarm.

The bike will be shown to the world on September 4 and that is when we will get to see it in totality. Tune in to ZigWheels as we bring to you the latest images of the F4Z by MV Agusta and Zagato.
